Paris In July Plans

Only a little over two weeks until Paris In July, being hosted by myself and Tamara, gets under way.
We are really excited by how much interest has been shown so keep spreading the word - it is never too late to join in. See this post for more information and just leave a comment either on that post or this one to let us know if you are interested so we can add you to the list.
I have been thinking about some movies and books I might like to delve into throughout the month - see the photos above. I would love to hear about what others are thinking about reading, seeing, doing, cooking, playing etc....

I am definitely going to watch Amelie as it is my favourite film! I am possibly going to read Hunting and Gathering by Anna Gavalda (again). I will also eat lots of cheese. This is the plan so far!

Your stack for Paris in July looks wonderful! I adore Paris, Je T'Aime... it's so great at capturing the spirit of Paris.

I think I will read my first Colette book. I'd like to watch Coco Avant Chanel (only there's over 200 people wanting it from the library right now, maybe I'll rent it) and finally watch all of my copy of Paris Je T'Aime too! Maybe we can start collecting lists of great French movies and books to try out. I also thought of writing about my honeymoon in Paris and some of the art galleries, chapels and cemeteries I went to there.

I'm reading Cheri now and have The Last of Cheri, too. My Life in France was excellent - I loved the audio version!

I have That Mad Ache by Francoise Sagan and Colette's Vagabond to read. I'm also planning to go through my stored quotations to find ones either written by French authors or novels set in France. And then on the 1st August I'm off on holiday to France so I shall be truly in the mood. Perfect timing. Thank you for organising this.

I loved Paris Je T'Aime! It was such a wonderful collection of vignettes in Paris. I saw a similar film about Tokyo which I want to check out for the Japanese Literature Challenge. It's so fun to immerse oneself in another culture, and France is one of my favorites!

I think I may have to join y'all. I minored in French in college. I own quite a bit of books set in France or written by French writers, so this will be a good way to work my way through several. I'll probably start with my first Colette, like many other people, but I'm going to read her Claudine books. Thanks!
